DAY 1
First a bit of background we are 6 families totaling 21 people traveling to Bali for Christmas and New Year. Ages range from 13 - 59
4 families have been before and 2 are newbies. 4 families flew on the 20th Dec, 1 family plus my husband flew on 22nd Dec and the last family arrived on the 27th Dec
I will try not to bore you too much and I will split it up into several parts.
Most were staying for 16 days and myself and another family stayed for 26 days.

We left Sydney on Dec 20. Our wait at the airport started with the 5 18 year olds lining up to get their UAI which was released at 9.00am. Pleased to say they all did really well. So they could now relax and look forward to their holiday.
Plane was delayed for 3 hours and 1 family had slipped out of the system and had to be put on standby, more anxious moments waiting to see if there were any spare seats, amazingly there just happened to be 3 seats left after everyone had checked in.
Finally we are on our way. Flight was good and so was the food.

For the first 16 days we were staying at Rama Beach Tuban, our driver from the hotel was there waiting for us. Luckily I thought to email the hotel from Sydney to say that we would be late or the poor driver would have probably been standing there for 3 hours.

Checked in, said hello to all our friends, bags to the room and then hit the pool.
We love this hotel, everyone is just so nice, nothing is ever a trouble.
Spent the rest of the arvo by the pool drinking cocktails and many Bintangs.

Dinner tonight was at Mini. Great seafood.

Day 2

Up at 7.00am and out walking. We find this is the best time to meet people, with out being hassled to buy things. We walked most mornings and it varied with how many others accompanied us depending on the activities of the night before.
Back by 8.30am for breakfast.
This morning it was off to Carefour for supplies, that place is certainly big and modern. So big that price checks are done by people on rollerblades.
Back to the hotel and lunch from S A Café across the road, they do great takeaway burgers.
After lunch it was up the road to Segara Spa where we had a 70min Balanise massage for 50,000rp. Great value for money.
Tonight dinner was at Zanzibar and then to Blue Ocean to listen to a band.
We bought a recipe book at Zanzibar, called Food for Life that contains recipes from all different restaurants in Bali. It cost 50,000rp and all the revenue goes to the Calvary hospital in Wamena Papua Indonesia.

More to come soon
Husband arrives and the rain sets in
