We take ours as we have a business and must be contactable and still do some work. Unfortunate I know. Some hotels have WiFi in them, for example Candi Beach Cottages in Candi Dasa, so you don't have to carry it around with you. Otherwise there are many cafe's and restaurants that provide free Wi Fi. We found this was much better than trying to use the very slow computers at Jayakarta. My advice is to stay at a hotel that offers Wifi if possible, or find a cafe close by so you aren't lugging your laptop around.
WE also use our laptop to download photo's as when we got them put on disk once, there was a virus downloaded too.
Good luck and don't work too hard!
