It does depend on which airline you are flying with. I believe that Qantas and Jetstar will confiscate it but if you are flying Garuda you will collect it after you have passed through customs. Depending on what you are wanting to buy, some alcohol is still cheaper in Perth. I now pre-order (greater selection) and collect when I return to Perth. Duty free when you return only has basic spirits.
