I've been in March for the last few years and its usually really hot and steamy but last year I didnt find it as humid and thought it was quite pleasant but I like the heat.

The Bali Discovery website says:

Government Announces Public Holidays for 2008.
(6/4/2007) 3 ministries of the Indonesian Government have officially decreed the schedule of public holidays for 2008. Jointly agreed between the Minister of Religion, the Minister of Manpower and Transmigration, and the State Minister for Administrative Reform - the schedule covers both traditional religious and political holidays in addition to "shared holidays" creating extended holidays.
