We have seen the meat departments in a number of early morning markets. Not a pretty sight! No refrigeration, flies and dust and really grotty chopping boards. And, they sell every last portion of the animal. Amazing to see bowls of chooks feet. All the gizzards and offal.
There is a butcher over at Sanur, but I expect more for expats. If you go to Makro, Bintang Supermarket or Bali Deli you can see pre packaged meat, similar to how it is presented at home.
