I have been told that the Telaga Waja River has the least steps. I went there recently and it is definitely less than at Ayung River where I have been previously. TW has maybe 200 steps down and 300 up. It's still not a walk in the park but easier to manage in the end. Also the staff at Ayung hastened the climb whereas the TW staff encouraged ppl to take their time. I much preferred TW as far as that goes. But you have to watch your step, it can get slippery and there are steep slopes on the edge of the path.
