take some sort or precatuions these days. Have you thought of staying down the Legian end. Somewhere like the Mandira or Legian Beach.
I find that the Legian end is much quieter with still so much to do. The kids will be able to do lots of shopping in smaller shops but they all sell the same stuff.
To me I find that the Kuta/Tuban end is very busy with very little local interaction with the locals happening but the Legian end much more relaxed and welcoming.
I compare it to being in the city and being in the country here at home.
Just a suggestion.
