Try checking out www.meridianholidays.com they have packages from the USA that include air / accomodations plus some tours included ...
With the tours that are included, this would give a general idea of Bali, seeings as how you are going for only one week.
I am coming from Vancouver Canada and used Meridian Holidays. for my first time visit - I thought it was easier what with the tours included - you also would have a few choices for hotels ...
