credit, but I will tell that story later.
Yulia art-shop Jl. Danau Tamblingan 38, it is next to their Homestay by the same name.
Very cool shop, with a savvy old Lady who loves to tell stories of when she was Young. Go up the stairs and there are all these old paintings rolled up and shoved on shelves, we have never seen anything like it, so make sure you have lots of time to unroll them and have a good look, I am sure we missed some treasures, as we didn't even see half of them.
A lot of them are moth eaten, (or as she said, lots of biting butterflies in Bali) so hold them up to the window and check, one of ours has a few little holes, but we love it so much we don't care, and you can't really see them, we just used it as a bargaining tool.
She started off wanting RP 4,000,000 just for the big painting 130x100cm, a beautiful piece of art in traditional style, we ended up with it, two medium sized paintings 60x80cm, an old brass frog which I found behind a door in a locked cupboard, and two swords for RP 2,250,000.
It was the longest I have ever bargained for any thing, but so worth it, we smiled in the end and I said "good for, you good for us", she said "good for you maybe!"
I love art and have a lot of original paintings, these new ones are some of my favourites, it is well worth going, even if it's just for the experience! have fun you will get dirty!
