We spent all of April last year in Bali. It was the worst weather I have ever experienced in Bali.
Not only was there complete cloud cover for the first 10 days, but it was so thick you could not even determine the position of the sun.
Conditions slowly improved through April and by the end of the month there was sunshine 50% of the time. Still, it was still so wet (by then we were in Lombok) that most of the minor roads and tracks were impassable.
I would never go again in April.
November would be preferable, it will be hot though.
