Garuda had an abysmal reputation in Europe for years and years before they stopped the service. In fact, they were famous for it. If you got one of the few new planes, everything was o.k. but, as was more often the case, you got an older model, there were always technical problems
which inevitably caused delays. Simple fact is, they didn't (perhaps still don't) have the bucks to maintenance properly or invest in newer planes. In the end I started paying almost 30% more to fly Singapore; No more grief, no more complaining.
