flatout with no spare planes so every time there is a substantial delay the knock on can affect flights for days. Airports are busy also so there's a lot of rescheduling has to occur and flight personnel can only work for specified periods before they have to be stood down. So the fog that orginally caused the delay could have long since dissapated and your plane can still be delayed or rescheduled.
