As you know Im still here in Phuket - Karon Beach at Marna Phuket Resort ( ex Marina Cottages) Need to take a break from the heat so air con on full blast and away I start my near JBR report.
Left Darwin 16 August and went to Bali via Singapore. Bali was a late side trip much to my joy when Pommy other 1/2 said it was a goer. ( Pommy 1 ( P1 ).
Tiger flight good except for really "hard" seats and I was stuggling with a bad neck. P1 whinged about his tail bone so need a flat cushin next time.
Arrived in SIN at 6am so booked a day room a Grand Mecure Roxy. East Coast. Day rates around $95 SIN. went over the road to a local Singapore food market and got a huge plate full of food for around $1.80 AUS everything was fresh.
Did some shopping at a large shopping cente opposite. There is also an adjoining one to the hotel which had stacks of shops. Got some malaysian made Birkenstein alike sandals for S$24 ( Chickchilli I will send away for the real ones.!!) Anyhow they are comfy.
Spent the rest of the time sleeping awaiting our 7pm approx departure to Bali. Free Shuttle to Terminal 1 to catch the Jestar/Value air fight to Bali. 2 passengers missing from flight and they went up and down the plane couting heads... honestly 6-7 times each attendent.
The two AWOL passengers finally make it aboard. Captain announces were ten minutes behind schedule. We landed 45mins behind schedule. VOA was an hour. Absolutely hopeless they only had two booths open. Never seen a cue like this.
Get outside and there are thousands in the arrival area. How I managed to find my driver Putu I just dont know. Putu said he had never seen so many for pickups before either. So this is good news for Bali. Anyhow in the car and non stop talking til we get to the hotel. Rama Gardens in JL Padma. Its been 16months since my last trip so lots to catch up on face to face although we text and phone every now and then.
Problem at Rama Garden the hotel is full and they have accidently let our room to someone else. ( I think Wally 1 from BTF had something to do with this) :-)) So around the corner to Losari we go. 100 apologies but were back to Rama the next day.
Its 11:30pm and I didnt really care.. Im back in Bali and thats all that matters.
