I just talked to a NZ doctor and she said it is highly unlikely to pick up the disease unless you are directly dealing with dead or infected birds...
I am taking my 10yr old so am a little nervous to say the least!!!
She reckons that it takes around 7 days for the symtoms to show as well so I wont know anything till back in NZ anyways and then I will be around the best medical help if I DID actually manage to pick it up (which I wont as I wont be caught anywhere near a flaming chook!).
I wont be eating eggs or chicken the whole time I am there BUT I will be going out and about seeing Bali...

Hope this helps anyone else who is a little nervous like myself...
