I bring back loads (litterally like 60 pcs)every trip. They are fine through customs but you must declare them.

Legian morning market (on the corner of Jl. Legian & Jl. Melasti) sell them, and if they dont they will get them for you. Ubud market also sell them, as does Bedugal market if you are going up that way at all - you should be able to get them anywhere.

There are various types and you will pay accordingly. I always try and get the fatter ones that are not as dried as some of the cheaper ones. SOrry i can't remember what I paid - but I think i got about 60 sticks for Rp100,000? So much cheaper than in australia - 3 sticks here last time I checked was $11!

From memory I think bintang supermarket also sells them in much smaller packs. I also bring back whole nutmeg and star annise.
