Indonesian. Bahasa actually means language.
eg Bahasa Indonesia= Indonesian language
Bahasa Inggris = English Language
Bahasa Bali = Balinese language.

Indonesian is the official language.
Not everyone in Bali is Balinese so Indonesian is more practical. When travelling to remote areas some people may not speak Indonesian as it is taught in school. Not everyone goes to school.
In my experience Balinese is more difficult language and it is more difficult to find written info on it.
Indonesian is a phonetic language and is easy to lear (compared to many other languages). Once you learn the pronuncition of each letter it's just a matter of sounding it out.
