You can email them the letter of invitation. I did this a couple of weeks ago. I emailed a letter of invitation to him, and also emailed him a letter addressed to the consulate to take with him also. Fortunately I was in Bali at the time and had my payslips with me. Maybe you could try faxing your payslips through to the consulate. I also had copies of my bank statements for the last 3 months and a copy of our Council Rates. He arrives in Sydney on Thursday, it only took a couple of days to get visa through.
