Just back from 4 nights at Life in Amed, my favourite place in the area and my third time visiting. The staff are always so lovely and very helpful, this is a small complex of 6 cottages and 2 villas on the beach and has a very comfortable family vibe. While we visited we were invited to a Tooth Filing Ceremony in the village, ten children were having their teeth filed by the Holy Man, we were greeted warmly and enjoyed a meal with the family of assorted curies and pork and satay lilit...a little spicy but delicious. I beleive most of the villagers was there, no one went fishing that morning. I find it interesting to stay beside the village as it is more unusual for us and the children than being in a large hotel. The gardens are enchanting, great restaurant, they especially cooked Chicken Tutu of us. Life in Amed's rooms are stylish and extremely clean, the bathrooms are open air so a late night shower is under the stars. I'll be back again soon.
