I am the cousin mentioned in this JBR so i will give you my opinion of the Febris.
We found the Febris to be excellent in every way. We had interconnecting rooms which were us48 each per night (if my memory is correct)which for our 9 nights worked out to be just on $1000 for the two rooms. The hotel is very new (2 years old)and is very clean. You have the option of a family room which has bunks and fold down divan but we choose the interconnecting for the extra bathroom and toilet. The difference between the two room prices was around $20 aus per night with the family room being the cheaper. Bedding is changed daily and room is thoroughly cleaned. Room service is only to 11.00pm whereas Ramada is 24 hour.
The pool is quite deep and i have heard it mentioned that it is better for bigger kids as shallow end still too deep for littlies. Didnt actually swim myself but my girls (11 and 13)did and had a great time. Febris pool is quite long with a fountain in the middle whereas Ramada pool has a centre island to swim around, bridges and swim up bar etc and overlooks the beach.

Febris is situated directly across fromt the Dynasty and 120 paces from Ramada so the location of each is excellent. Close to Centro and good restaurants.

We met a couple who were staying at the Dynasty and asked to have a look at our room, they were unhappy with the Dynasty and said they thought the Febris much better. Incidently they ate at the Febris more than the Dynasty.

I guess you have to work out what you want in a hotel as they are very different hotels. Ramada is much much bigger, but is also quite dated, has much bigger pool, and restaurant on the beach (which is dearer than the norm but excellent food)whereas Febris has excellent restaurant at very reasonable prices which my cousin has posted in the JBR. Ramada has onsite tour company Merry's. Febris has a much mroe relaxed atmosphere with the staff not scared to share a joke.

As my cousin said, they stayed at Ramada this trip but will be staying at the Febris with us nex year.

Hope this helps a little with your decision.
