We generally get our girls aged 7 and 10 hair braided on the beach in kuta, legian or tuban and have never had a problem with quality and it stays in generally for about 1.5 weeks. They also get their nails done as well. Generally we pay 50,000 each for hair 10,000 for hands and 10,000 for feet. My husband always gives more. We get their hair braided the first week we are there and then again the day we leave. My girls like to chose their bead colour and always ask for double beads.( they have been going to bali approx every year since they were 19 months) Once we got their hair braided in a salon thinking it would be easier on the kids instead of the heat of the beach and they used foil and the girls braids started falling out within a few hours.
The beach sellers have hats, clothes, watches, boat kites and heaps more stuff so maybe whilst your daughter is getting her treatments your son can do some shopping.
Remember to get a fixed price for all you want done before the girls begin the hair and tell them if its a good job youll come back for more.
