My mum also has a very bad knee and has found rooms 134-135 are well located on the bottom floor near the pool,also the arternoon sun do's not hit your room.
When we swam in the pool we had chairs near the massage hut, but later on when it got to hot we lay near our rooms,(thats if the hotels not to busy) as the sun can get warm to sit in in the afternoon.
We are going over again next year in July and will no dought stay there again.
I keep in regular touch with Denny Karmela the relations manager of the Bali Rani,tell him you know Rose,Albert and Marie from Melbourne and i'm sure he will look after you well.
