How many days is this for?
Are you paying for fuel?
Are you paying for their hotel during the time that they are driving you around Bali?
Are you going to feed them during the days of driving around Bali?
It they are "true friends", I would say that they are taking you for a ride. (pun intended)
Many local workers would have to work for about 4-6 months to earn the amount that you mention.
