Delays happen people. It's actually a wonder that more delays don't happen. If a plane can't fly due to a mechanical problem, or weather problems, or computer/air traffic control problems it can have a knock-on effect right around the world.
Try flying around Europe or the US a bit, especially in the winter. Then you'll see some delays.
