In Ubud, we like to walk down to the market. Its very different to be there early in the morning, eg by 9am, vs mid afternoon. The market changes sellers from morning to sunset.
You can go up to the Taro elephant park.
I enjoy walking thru the monkey forest, close by to Tegal Sari.
You can head off around 4 or 5 and drive a few km north to see the heron birds fly in at Petulu. Umm, well, they clamed 10s of thousands would roost overnight, but I can say we saw many at all, not flocks, for sure. It was another funny Bali experience.
A great morning is to drive about 5 km north of Ubud to the top of Tegallalang and walk back down the road and check out the very different shops and objects for sale. If you see something you like, buy it then and there, may never see it again.

We have done the Bali Baik bike tours twice and thoroughly enjoyed the adventure. Wayan took us on one of the tours and he has since started up a bike tour himself now.
I have a good driver contact in Ubud if you are interested.
