The cheapest flights from JKT to DPS are with Air Asia. Cheap does not mean good.

My wife and daughter flew with Air Asia in January DPS/JKT/DPS.
They paid for an early flight from JKT so they would be sure of catching the Jetstar flight from DPS to SYD. They got to the airport in JKT to catch the morning flight. Then they were told that that flight was cancelled and that they had been rebooked on the 2.30pm flight. To make sure that they would get to DPS, they also booked but not paid for seats on Batavia Air that day.

Their Air Asia flight left at 4.30 combining two loads of passengers on one flight. Most of the passengers were Turis Domestik. Each family chose their best sprinter to find the best seats, as at that time there were no allocated seats on Air Asia. I understand that you can now choose to pay extra to have seats allocated.

As the gate opened the sprinters ran across the Airport tarmac including my daughter who is an excellent 200m sprinter. She managed to get a seat at the back of the plane but despite her best efforts was not able to get a seat for her mother to sit next to her.
