hi all
Day 2 set off with my trusty little book I made up from the BTF of places to visit. I called this book my bali blog book.
First on agenda was the Bintang supermarket to stock up our supplies of bintang, found bottles of spirits there as well
we wont bother buying any at duty free before we leave again as we got Jack Daniels for about $22 aus, Gordons gin for about $9, Southern Comfort was $13. They had nearly all brands there as well as the local stuff which was even cheaper. Hubby bought a local Rum costing about $3 he said it wasn't bad. You can get everthing you need there well worth a visit. Also bought power adapter for plugs at $1.50 each you name it this shop has it fantastic store. My 5 yr old had a ball in the toy part at the prices he nearly ended up with every toy they had.
We bought him a night helmet with lights and microphone night vision glasses and super hearing devices it cost us 46,000 rup, we saw the exact same thing in centro for 199,000 so there is a guide for you how cheap their prices are. We also got pool toys, lilos and other swim stuff also.
This is the locals supermarket, prices very cheap. Just get a taxi to
take you there they all know it.

Next stop Genevas whow what a shop spent nearly two hours there and still had to go back a couple more times. This shop I found was a must to go to in our first days as everything you see for sale on the markets they have here all at wholesale prices all marked so its good as it gives you a great guide as to prices when haggleing in markets. This place is only for craft and homeware stuff no clothing.
Most enjoyable shopping there as you can check everthing out without being hassled. It gives a great oppurtunity to check for any defaults that may cause you to loose your stuff getting through customs.I could write about this shop for hours I must add be careful with your weight as I got caught with excess luggage but more on that later dont want to put a damper on you yet lol.
We now have a totally full boot with shopping so head back to Hotel for lunch around pool bar.

Hotel is fully booked so you can imagine the party that goes on around pool mostly Aussies there so every one seems to know someone we had meet up with another group of 14 who live in our suburb at home amazing. Pool Bar has a good menu for lunch but the most popular thing seems to be the pizza's. I must say their cocktails were a must. friends of ours we meet drank them out of teqilar so they just bought their duty free down and the bar staff made up their drinks for them just charged for mixes. The bar staff were great.
Well after quite a few cocktails and a afternoon in the water and sun it was time to get ready for dinner. I had taken my hair straightners with me but thought I would just nip next door to Centro to the local hairdresser there to see how much to get my hair washed dried and straightened i could not believe the price 25,000 thats is about $2.80 I thought stuffed if I was going to go back and do it myself so had it done there and then. First they washed it then massaged my head put all tonic in my hair then dried and straightned it fantastic value very relaxing and a fantastic job. So if you girls want a bit of spoiling this is the place to go.
We then went out to Bubba Gupps for tea as it was my Fathers Birthday We had a great meal great enternaining night of ordering Margaritas .
I would recommend this place to go if you havent been before as it quite different but it can be quite expensive for what it is. We usually only go once on every holiday but thats all.

Back to hotel for a fire works display, our teenages have brought .
What a laugh this was as I think they expected to have quite a sky show happening but they were gibbed only a couple had a bit of a bang to them mostly just a loud fizz is all they got. There mission for the hoiliday was to find big bazoocas as they called them. Towards the end of our holiday my Husbands found some in the supermarket under the DVD shop next to the Dynasty that were great so you can imagine now the boys knew where to get them from they totally bought out the shop .
Anyone going over soon dont buy them off the men in the street go straight to this shop as they were really good ones.
Well thats enough for tonight gotta keep you interested as more to come.
Hospital clinic and travel insurance tommorrow. and more shopping and resturants.
bye for now
Julie.
