Hand held Nintendo purchase in Bali?

My instincts tell me not to touch this with a 40 foot pole but I have a grandson who has big, blue, innocent eyes - - - -.
Has anyone any experience with such purchases in Bali who can give me any advice, source, costs, things to look out for etc, etc,
