My wife and I just returned from our honeymoon in Bali -- it was magical, perfect. We stayed at the Laguna Resort in Nusa Dua, and I would highly recommend this place (it's actually a little cheaper than what you're looking to spend). We visited a lot of the resorts on the island and found Laguna to be one of the best by far. The only set back is location -- if you stay in Nusa Dua expect to be in a taxi a lot, travelling to the other side of the island (Seminyek, etc.) for dinner. I can recommend a million places. Mozaic (fine French restaurant in Ubud) was to die for. Ku De Ta is not just a great "scene" but great food too. PJ's at Four Seasons. Maya Ubud for amazing spa overlooking a river.

I will cut/paste a little write-up that I created for our personal driver while in Bali. I hope to help the guy get some work -- he was such a nice man. We hired him twice for various day trips and he was great....

If you're planning a trip to Bali, I highly recommend hiring a driver for day trips. My wife and I hired a man named Agus (I found him on the internet prior to our honeymoon). It's good to hire him when you have a whole day that you want to jet around the island from place to place (example: day trip to Ubud) -- it's cheaper and more convenient than taxi. You can rent a car and drive yourself for even cheaper, but people drive a little crazy (safe, but crazy) in Bali and there's literally hundreds of motorbikes flying by you on the streets, not to mention the wandering dogs and chickens (yes, chickens) that randomly cross the road or lay on the side of it.

Anyway... Agus (http://heyboss.biz/) was our driver. He spoke good English and he was extremely knowledgeable about the island. He was an all around good guy -- so good that I promised I would post some reviews on travel websites. An old customer and friend set up his website for him.

Agus charges about 380,000 IDR for an entire day -- this is an amazing rate (this is the total charge, including the car rental). His e-mail is gil.agus@hotmail.com, phone is (62) 081.2394.2814. Agus is a really nice guy who needs the work to support his wife and kid.
