This outlet did an amazing reproduction abstract canvas for me last month. I am absolutely thrilled with the finished product, and will be using them again.
My painting is 1 metre wide by .7 metre high, and I actually brought it back on the wooden frame.I stipulated that the wood must be borer free, strong, and NOT green, and that the canvas must be of the best quality as well.
I had no problems with Perth customs, and they actully commented that it was good wood and that the canvas was well stretched on the frame. This has been confirmed by an artist friend here in Perth, who also said that the paint quality is very good and has a lot of depth to it.
It cost me 350,000Rp, and an additional 100,000Rp for transport to get me there and back, plus look at other studios enroute. Amas delivered the painting to me 4 days later at the hotel where I was staying in Tuban. There was no charge for that, and it arrived wrapped in soft foam, inside a cardboard package.
Because of the size, I could not put it in the overhead lockers, and had to check it in. Fortunately, QANTAS seem to have taken good care of it, and it survived the flight in perfect condition thank goodness. The risk was worth it in this instance, but I believe that if it can be rolled up, then that is a safer way to transport it home.
The whole exercise took me about 3 hours, as I also stopped at some other artists/shops because I wanted another abstract in red/grey/black/beige. I thought this would be easy to find, but had no luck in the many places I looked at that day and on other outings. All had other colours mixed in with them, and one or two that didn't, had twigs with small pods etc on, and I wasn't sure that they would be cleared by customs okay.
I will go better prepared on my next trip with exactly the same information as I did for my "shades of aubergine/avocado green/stone" coloured painting. I am sure that my satisfaction with the artwork is because I was precise with my instructions and samples etc.
I was recommended these artists by the Dynasty Hotel who use them for much of their artwork, and also another Balinese source, who drove me to their premises.

I dealt with a knowledgeable young man called Said, who added the extra silver metallic finishes to the work as I requested.
I took with me a picture from a magazine that I wanted to be re-produced in my family room decor, plus paint sample cards from Bunnings, which I matched with my furnishings before I left Perth, and also a photo of the wall and room it was to be hung in.
