my son had his mobile phone and watch stolen when walking home along benesari lane from the bounty ship nightclub early one morning. Two girls (maybe boys)on a motorbike came up to him and tried to feel him up. He pushed them away but they had got his watch off his arm and phone out of his pocket, both good quality and expensive. He did not notice this until they had zoomed off. My advice is not to take this sort of stuff with you when you are out on the town and always have enough money left to get a taxi home. He is a big bloke, 20yrs old but was on his own and under the weather so learnt a valuable life lesson. We wasted a couple of hours of our holiday at the police station getting a report for insurance and it cost us 60000 rupiah for our trouble (for "administration costs" lol) While we were there a south american girl was reporting her credit cards stolen from another niteclub. So be safe and use common sense as you would anywhere in the world.
