- stop at the Baturiti markets which are just after Pacung where you should stop for a breather and a nice cup of tea at the Pacung Indah while enjoying the views. Baturiti is a very local market with everything from manufacturing gold and silver smiths to blacksmithing toolmakers, vegetable and rice sellers (including red and black rice which your Balinese friends will welcome as a small gift for their house shrines), temple offerings (buy one for your driver's car), clothes and shoes and more.
Then a bit further up the hill stop at the Candi Kunning markets, made famous by the well known and highly respected Crackers Toilets with their attached Bar and Grill. Here you will see a local market that has become 'tourised' in comparison with the one at Baturiti.
Try the cashew nuts, the strawberries if in season and a cornucopia of other fresh fruits.
