Hey everybody, here is my JBR report.
24th July - Flew into Bali from Perth at 4:35pm, after going through the things at the airport it was off to Legian Paradiso hotel with 12 of my friends. (Some reports on the BTF said that the hotel was in much need for a renovation. I agree but at the same time was very impressed with the hotel). We all got settled into our rooms and made our way to Nero for tea. Not too bad, the lay out of the place was beautiful. Early night as we were all tired from the flight.
25th July - Went shopping pretty much all day around the Legian area, then made our way through Poppies II then down to Kuta Square. Got some really good buys. We then got our DVD fix, SOFTCOMP centre is definately the best place to go. Good range and deals. After a swim in the pool back at the hotel, it was time for us to meet up with 7 more of our friends that came over earlier. It was 2 of the 7's 21st that day so we made our way to Billy's Bar, before hand we had dinner over the road at the legends bar.. Good atmosphere - BEWARE OF THE SPRING ROLLS - Our friend bit in to one and found a rusty nail. The manager was very apologetic and gave her free drinks and dinner for free. You could see he was very embarrassed. Back over to Billys bar, the younger people in our group (all around 21) had been there previously and made friends with the staff. When we all came back we were suprised to see they made a cake for the birthday boy/girl and a big banner which we thought was great. Had a fantastic night, the band was fantastic.
26th July - Nursing a major hangover, we made our way to WATERBOM PARK. Tried out the new boomerang slide which in my opinion by far is the best slide there. AFter going on every slide, was quite bored (This trip is my 11th - Been to Waterbom every trip) so went over to the Discovery Mall. Plenty of stalls / shops to look at. Purchased some golf shoes for dirt cheap ($40 Aus) which are over $100 at the specialty golf stores here. Then headed back to the hotel for a bit of shut eye. That night, we went out to the Bounty which was a lot of fun, cheesy music but good to see that it was packed out as it should be without any worried tourists.
27th July - Today was white water rafting along the ayung river. This would have to be the highlight of my trip, the guides were fantastic and with a party of 13 it was a lot of fun. We stopped halfway to view this giant waterfall, it was great! We had a few pics up the top and then continued along our 16km journey. The majority was pretty tame except the 4 meter drop at the end haha great fun. We got back to the hotel about 5pm and was exhausted so we got our maccas fix and had an early night.
28th July - Just another shopping day today with an added sleep in. For dinner we headed to Jimberan Bay for the lovely seafood they had for offer. To feed 13 of us it was just over 2,000,000 which we thought was a bargain.
This has gone a little too long so in summary for the next few days
Places we went out: MBarGO, F Lounge, Bounty
Places we ate at: Ku De Ta (Divine!!) , La Laccaraccus?? (An italian place in Sanur which was highly recommended by other aussies) and another italian place for breakfast not far from Ku De Ta on the beach front in seminyak.
I hope you enjoyed my JBR - if you have any questions, please feel free to post a message
Thanks
