We travelled on direct flight to Melb and 4 of us each with suitcases that were a little over we thought. The first two went in ,16kgs over then the next two he gave us the opportunity to remove 5kg from one and 6kg from the other. So we got away with 4kgs each over and i am told they usually allow a few kgs over . A little inconvenient but saved us A$300 in excess baggage. We weren't carrying much in hand luggage so i think he was leanient but Jetstars 20kg allowance doesn't go far when the empty suitcases weigh 5kg. Will have to look at new suitcases before next trip i think.
