I often go from Sanur to Candi Dasa, just to have a beer with a mate. I allow about 90 minutes (or 4 beers) for the trip. Another friend who is a dive master here does the trip in 45 minutes on his motorbike.(he does not drink beer while on his bike !)
On the drive you will get nice views of the ocean, Nusa Lembongan, the mountains and a small number of rice fields.
Ubud is a lot closer to Sanur,(it is only a 3 beer trip) so you will probably come back along the same road for a short while but then cut inland and wind your way along to Ubud.
Depending on which route you take this should only be a maximum of a 90 minute trip as well.
You should be able to easily complete the journey within your allocated time.
Try to stop in at Padang Bai, this is only a short distance South of Candi Dasa.
I would also suggest buying your own esky for 160,000rp from Macro and packing that with cold beer and ice. The restaurants in Padang Bai and Candi Dasa, still can not serve cold beer,
