Hi Struth

I don't mean to put people off the speed boat - I would definitely consider taking it again when short on time. I've taken the ferry before (totalling a 12 hour journey to the Gilis), and also flown (but this has often taken a long time too, due to frequent cancellations and delays). I just think people should be aware of how rough it can be - particularly if you are sat on the 'wet' side of the boat. The company do supply good waterproofs, but if you had young children or were a bit nervous, I don't think I would recommend it.

Our traditional hut had a western style toilet, with cold water, a double bed and a fan. It's not as luxurious as some of the 'expensive' lombok style huts that you find further up the stip e.g. Dream Village Bungalows, but was clean, reasonble, and suited us perfectly. I can email you a couple of pictures if you like? Let me know.
