From memory you would have only been able to stay in the hotel in the airport for 6hrs. I think that was the limit from memory.
What about if you go into Singapore and just book into a really cheap hotel. I think we paid about $70 for the 6hrs at the airport hotel and should be able to get one in the city for that. Have sleep and then go and shop!
