People are not going from Adelaide because of: perceived danger due to Government warnings, but mainly because of the hassle of not flying direct. We have just returned from 3 fantastic weeks there, with the only problem of landing back in Perth at 4.30 am and going through customs etc and then the bus haul over to the domestic terminal, carrying, predictably, tons of luggage and juggling duty free stuff. The only way to fly direct back to Adelaide is via Singapore or Malaysia, which involves around 11 - 12 hours flying time. Not to mention the price increase from last time. Friends of ours are in Samoa now, with airfares of around $700 from Adelaide. They would have preferred Bali, but it wasn't worth the effort. It's about time the airlines did something about this ridiculous situation of ignoring Adelaide (and or Brisbane friends) Yes, we will be going back, our business going to Singapore Airlines, but the market will continue to shrink, like any market the airlines couldn't be bothered servicing.
