thing in my experience. I wear the real Birkenstocks a lot and I also have a coule of pair of fake beaded ones from Bali and they are totally different. They are also no where near as hard wearing (of course). But it depends what you are after. As just thongs the fakes are fine though I had one pair that werent cut right and I had trouble keeping them on when walking around (just call me monkey toes). But the real thing are just so comfortable and light to wear and really easy on your feet and legs if you have to do a lot of walking around. And, with the AUD so high at the moment against the US$ they are quite cheap to buy over the internet.
