This may be of interest to anyone using Voice over Internet Protocal (VoIP) to make the bulk of their local and international calls.
Haven't tried this myself, but I believe that if you have a VoIP phone, you can unplug your VoIP handset/laptop and take it overseas with you. Plug it into the internet connection in your hotel room or internet cafe, and your phone will work as though you're back at home. Also, people can dial you on the same number. Your calls costs remain the same as the phone thinks it's still in Perth.
