Flew Jetstar Adelaide - Sydney - Denpasar. Going there was fine, plenty of time and the shuttle was free for Jetstar passengers.
On the way back, there were MASSIVE queues at customs at Sydney. I do not know if this is an ongoing problem, some of the staff there hinted that it was. If we hadn't been waved thru, we would have easily missed our flight back to Adelaide.
So my advice to you is this: If you have nothing to declare on the way home (no wood, food etc) make sure your card is filled out and hold it in your hand with the details visible!! They have customs staff walking thru the area looking for random people to wave thru when the lines are that long. They weren't actually asking people for cards, just speaking to those whose cards they could see. The woman in front of us also tried to get thru when we did, but because she had ticked yes for food and then crossed it out and changed it to no (she reckons she left he bananas on the plane hahaha) they wouldn't ok her.
Hopefully this sort of thing doesn't happen constantly at Sydney, but if it does, remember the card LOL!
I was stressing about the transfers before we went, but in the end it was all fine - we had a bout 2 hours between connections each way. We even made it back to Sydney on time when the plane left Bali an hour late!
