Hi everyone, have been reading this forum for ages and got lots of helpful info so thought I would return the favour and do a mini jbr on my recent trip. I have been to Bali quite a few times so I mainly went to relax, do a bit of shopping, catch up with friends I have made on previous trips and just enjoy myself.
Restaurants I enjoyed were Breeze, Yutz (they were very busy), Sendok, Warung 96, Dulang mainly for the potato salad (yum), Alleycats and several little warungs around Kuta. Alleycats new venue in Poppies 2 is great, so much more room and now has pool tables and a free book swap area and of course same great food.
Shopping consisted mainly of some new (genuine, not copy) casual walking/sport type shoes from the sports stores in Kuta Square, at least half of what you would pay in Australia. Was surprised to see some really nice style surf brand track type long sleeve zip up tops from one of the ladies on the beach, very nice quality and price.
Spotted a new shop in Poppies 1 called ‘Doggie Style' which sells all sorts of doggie stuff, collars, t-shirts, jumpers, leads etc. Got some really cute stuff there for my little one - my favourites a little t-shirt with ‘I am a virgin' on it and another with ‘my boss is gay'. They also had polar fleece jackets and all different sizes, and prices much cheaper than the other places, quality good and fixed price. The guy there really nice, loves dogs, I browsed for ages and no hassles but very helpful with sizes and tape measure etc.
Went to a few different night spots, Hulu Café was great as usual, Billy's had some new guys playing live music who were really good, Legends, Espresso Bar - all were good.
Any questions welcome.
