They are building a sloping wall along the high-water mark all the way from Bali Garden Hotel to the airport. It is a huge project and they are doing a superb job. It looks spot-on. Most of the hotels where the work is being done have an area for sun-baking etc. back from the beach anyway. If you want to swim it's only a short walk to the left to get away from the construction work and the beach is much better for swimming as well. It's no big deal. Provides some interesting watching if you like that sort of thing too.
