I stayed there in March this year with a friend and it's ok if you don't expect too much. The first rooms we were given were pretty awful so we asked if there was anything else available and were shown other better rooms. Still basic but clean and with good air con and a comfy bed with reasonable linen. We had nice big verandahas where we spent most of our evenings.
As we were out and about about every day it suited us. We went from Perth on one of Skywest's cheap one week packages so we were paying less for the week with accommodation than just an airfare with Garuda so it was really accommodation for free so who could complain?
It is situated down a long (lit) driveway off Benesari Lane but we didn't ever feel unsafe walking it at night.
