Im pretty sure there is a legal age for drinking in Indonesia. Im sure its 17 years of age (I could be wrong), when you are declared as an adult here. When you can apply for a KTP and get the right to vote.
There is also a age limit for buying cigarettes, I think this is 13 or 16 years of age. (I forget) You will now regularly see the signs in a CIRCLE K, such as they do in Australia, wont sell cigarettes to minors. This is what is happening in Jakarta anyway. Dont know about Bali.
However like a lot of rules in Indonesia, they are never enforced and ignored and then finally forgotten (or someone is paid off to forget them) ....as if they dont exist :)
