I mentioned a few things in my first JBR, however a few of you guys may have missed that- this is okay with me because it was probably not real interesting. We are a group of 6 old Military mates getting together in Bali for a bit of a look around, a laugh and a few beers. Our group consists of me - I am named Kim. There is our ex Military Officer Surly Earl, Bob Vispas, John Cox, Rumours and Edward Woodward.
Now Surly Earl can't hear very well because he is a tad older than us other guys, which means that we are younger than him. I mention this only to clear up any misunderstanding. Edward Woodward would be the fittest of us and Rumours and Vispas are the gossip mongers -I have no idea what that word means but people use it often, so I thought that I would as well.
Anyway we were in Sanur and had planned to meet up at the Bali Senia Hotel to watch the weekend football. I read about this hotel on the BTF and directed my mates to go there. -thank you people from this forum.
We had become separated, myself plus Rumours and Vispas had listened to someone and ended up in a house of ill repute with women of questionable dates. Surly Earl can't be trusted alone so he had gone off with Edward Woodward and John Cox.
Edward Wooward would be one of the most reliable people around, so I was astounded when him and Surly Earl met us at the entrance to the Bali Senia. John Cox was nowhere to be seen. I blurted
' You two have come here without Cox!!'
I could not believe it ! Big John Cox is a slow moving man but to leave him behind was just not the done thing. Just then a western looking guy parked his car and started to walk into the Bali Senia. He sensed something was wrong and approached us
'gidday guys , my name is Ron. Can I help you?'
I told him straight
'We don't have Cox'
He agreed that this was a problem and stupidly asked
'Where did you lose them?'
I was a tad angry and shouted
'HIM, not them!!'
Anyway this Ron guy agreed to help us and asked if Edward Woodward would go in his car in a search for John Cox.
Edward Woodward said he would. We all thought that Edward Woodward would be the best person to go looking.
We all knew if anyone would find John Cox, Edward Woodward would.
Anyway within only a couple of minutes Edward Woodward and this Ron guy were back with John Cox. Boy oh boy, we were happy to see our missing Cox.
So the seven of us walked into the hotel to watch the football. This Ron guy turned out to be Bloodyron who often writes on this forum. He introduced us to the owner of the Senia Hotel who is named Pete but is known locally as Pak Guru. We met Hanoi-so named because he used to get bombed every night. We met Big and Small Mike, Allan who runs Dreamweaver surfing tours, Ian who has Bali Bargain Hunters, Dean and Lisa who run Zen Villas, Dooby who was on holidays from Angiston in South Australia. Gary Botak was there and so was Gus from Alice Springs, his nick name is LPG. Skeeta, Dion, Robbie plus a few other guys that I have forgotten were also there.
As Edward Woodward would, he brought a round of drinks for everyone in the place. He was still happy because of him and Bloodyron finding our lost Cox. I actually told John Cox to hang around close to the main body of us from now on.
He said that he would, but I told him that this is Edward Woodwards role. He did not seem to understand. But sometimes big Cox can get a bit confused.
Pak Guru is a Geelong supporter and LPG is a Collingwood tragic, luckily we were there for a game involving these two teams. Surly Earl can't understand Aussie Rules football so he was happy to have a sleep in the corner. I mentioned to Pak Guru that we were thinking of going to Lovina. He said
'Bloodyron has a car and my chariot is just parked in the driveway. On Monday him and I will drive you up there. Too bloody easy!'
At this stage Rumours and Vispas were just starting to get out of hand. So I went over to stop them.
Next JBR going to Crackers Bar and Lovina.
