and we bought a Macpac Backpack as we thought a stroller/pram would be too difficult. For us, this worked a treat and he really loved sitting in it. It maybe got a little hot for hubby, but the baby isn't actually against you, so he was sitting in his own 'chariot', up high and thought it was great. I think a stroller would be too difficult (but with a 7 month old, it would be good in restaurants as the highchairs when they have them are not the best - as mentioned earlier). Re baby food, Bali Deli in Jl Kunti at Seminyak has everything you could possibly want. They import a lot of stuff from Australia, so we didn't really need to take everything with us - great variety (not sure on NZ brand food though) - it's worth checking out. Re mozzie protection, I had very light cotton long sleeved shirts and long pants (light coloured) that I put him in first thing in the morning and in the evening. I actually sprayed his clothes with tropical strength RID and then I only had to dab a bit of RID around his neck, forehead, wrists and ankles. He didn't get one bite while we were away. Hope this helps and you'll find that your bub is a true 'star' with the Balinese - everybody knew our little one so well by the time we left! Have a great trip.
