Hi Seetie. We took our 10 month old bub in April. We just took a cheap light weight stroller which was fine. Our little guy is too heavy to carry in a sling but it would also have been too hot.
We took lots of jarred baby food from home, we ran low on jars in the last couple of days but could not find any in the supermarket. We often asked the staff at our hotel to make things for him (scrambled eggs etc) and they were more than happy to do that. We took our own nappies but found that the nappies in the supermarket were fine.
We also took a natural mosquito repellent from home (there is heaps of info in the archives on various products). We smothered our little guy day and night as there was quite a few mozzies in our hotel.
As far as bottles go, we took Miltons sterilizing tablets and just bought a tub from the supermarket and sterilized that way.
We found that not many of the restaurants that we ate at had high chairs but the staff were wonderful - they often took him for a walk while we ate our meal.
We only used a babysitter once - on the night of our wedding. We put bubba to sleep and then she sat with him. Only problem was that she spoke NO english so we couldn't really tell her what to do with him if he woke up.
Bubby didn't even look like getting sick - infact most of the adults got a touch of the trots but Reef was fine the whole time.
We had an awesome time and wouldn't hesitate to do it again! Please feel free to email me if you have any other questions :-)
