We enjoyed 25 nights in beautiful Bali. Enjoyed the lovely warm weather but have have not adjusted to the icy mornings and days since arriving home home early last week. It was the most relaxed holiday we have had in Bali- partly because we had set guidelines/curfews for our 17 year old son prior to booking the holiday. Went to Nusa Lembogan for 2 days/ 1 night.A beaututiful place to visit, but this was long enough for me as I do enjoy a bit more action.
Went to Rumours as suggested on BTF, every one loved it, however I was rather disappointed as they dont serve any indonesian meals- and couldn't make a club sandwich! Be careful if you go there at night, as I was getting out of the taxi and (opening my purse for money for the fare at the same time), I stepped straight into 1 metere drainhole. It was dark and i wasn't watching my step- 1 minute i am talking and getting money from my wallet and the next instant, i had disappeared. All i could see was my friends ankles as she was getting out of the taxi. Luckily I was not injured and could laugh about the event.Thank goodness the drain hole was dry and full of yucky things! We stayed at MBR- I just luv the staff here and am so fond of the sellers on the beach. Johny the hotel dog is still there- altough a passing tourist(I think)went crazy one morning and picked up a stone and was screaming that he was going to kill Johny. This man chased Johny with a stone and even came back to the hotel grounds about 45 mins later and was still looking for him and complained to the staff. Apparently he startled Johny when he walked past on the road and Johny growled at him. Many people were upset by the incident as it occured during the breakfast session.
I met some lovely people at MBR and on the beach- SIRFINN, Chesz?Gordon and Debra who are also forumites.
In all we had a relaxed holiday- reading, eating, sleeping and shopping and chatting to many new people.. I enjoyed many long walks along the beach and surrounds in the mornings, swam laps when I felt like it, did a few day trips. The boys went surfing when they could.Once again, I became teary as I hugged my dear bali fiends goodbye. I have travelled many places in the world, but Bali remains my favourite place. It is the one place that I feel truly comfortable and relaxed. I have no desire to travel to any other destination in the near future.
We flew qantas on FF. Brisbane, cairns, Darwin, Bali and the same on return trip. Good service.Weight was 21 kilos each on the way home. I had to stop myself from buying- we weighed our bags a few times along the way at the hotel just to check our weight.Billabong and quicksilver sales were good. I bought heaps of Mt skin care from the hairdresser suppliers near the big statue. Will post more later. My computer room is so cold at the moment, so can't stay here for too long.
