Padangbai or Candidasa?

I am looking to do a one night stop over enroute from Kuta to Amed in either Padangbai or Candidasa. Will have my own transport. Would like to do a morning dive before leaving around 1pm. Would like a place with some nearby snorkling for my wife and friend.
1. Which town would you recomend?
2. What hotel would you recomend in the town you think is best. We would like AC, hot water and a price around 250000rp for a double with breakfast.
