when we were there last August I had my first experience with a speedy meter.Cant remember the price now but his meter was flipping over so fast and I made a comment to my hubby about it but we didnt say anything to the driver till we were getting out and he didnt respond.I doubt there would be any recourse myself.I asked a Balinese and he said some drivers own their own taxis and they can speed the meter up ? This taxi looked like a Bluebird but maybe it wasnt ? This taxi driver wasnt friendly at all, in hindsight I would next time ask to be dropped off as soon as I realised the meter was going too fast and tell them why I changed my mind . I know it may sound like nitpicking and I always tip but I dont like to feel ripped off either.
